IETM DEVELOPMENT

 

The personnel at Dr. Diesel Technologies have a significant depth of experience creating, updating, and/or revising technical data in the form of highly sophisticated Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM’s) using EMS Next Gen, electronic technical manuals (ETMs), and confirming Technical Manuals (TM’s). The DDTS knowledge base includes “Expert” level knowledge of the U.S. Army TACOM Electronic Maintenance System Next Generation (EMS NG) IETM Authoring suite, which is currently used by both the U.S. Army and U.S. Marine Corps for tactical and combat vehicles and equipment IETM’s. Utilizing and refining the same skills used for technical data development, our publications staff has supported technical publication efforts, which include, but are not limited to, Modification Instructions (MI’s) and Technical Instructions (TI’s). 

 

The Dr. Diesel team has many years of experience developing diagnostic troubleshooting flow charts, IETM content, Validation/ Verification and integration testing efforts. In this regard, work over the years with US Army Tank and Automotive Command (TACOM), Product Directorate-Test, Measurement & Diagnostic Equipment (PD-TMDE) and Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC), as well as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) for the many US Army and Marine Corps vehicles related to Class V Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), resulted in an in-depth knowledge of the following:

Our authors are capable of developing IETM content using the latest applicable Mil-Standards in several development languages, including SGML and XML. Each has an in-depth understanding of schematics which has enabled them to develop troubleshooting logic flow diagrams from OEM engineering data, even when no legacy documentation was available. 

Dr. Diesel SME expertise includes all aspects of training, including writing lesson plans, developing training formats, and providing field support. They are proficient in the use of military vehicle diagnostic test equipment and all peripheral hardware and software including:

The culmination of the above experience results in an almost unique ability to provide the total systems level support needed by today’s war fighting technicians and mechanics. We know how the maintenance hardware and software (The VADS and IETMs) are supposed to work together. We are also quite knowledgeable on the troubleshooting and diagnostic tests available that are not normally covered by the deployed technical data package, whether electronic, or paper based.
